Royal Court Cafe Bar

Royal Court Theatre

A lively meeting place for audiences, writers, directors, actors and the general public. Set within the 19th Century auditorium pit, it occupies a space steeped in history. High vaulted ceilings with natural light pouring in through glass pavement blocks.

Food is locally and ethically sourced and we pride ourselves on the fact that we use reputable and award winning suppliers. Cured meats, oils and olives from Brindisa; meat from Smithfield Market and cheese from Neal’s Yard Dairy all combine to create a menu that appeals and inspires.

Our comprehensive and seasonal wine list has been carefully selected by leading London wine merchant, Bibendum. Our fully-functioning bar serves a wide range of beers and spirits to suit every taste.

The bar itself also offers savoury treats such as quiches, tortillas and sausage rolls, perfect for a quick bite or to cure hunger pangs. During the day, you will also find a selection of cakes to complement our wide range of Twinings tea and Puro Fairtrade coffee.

For something more substantial, choose from our full menu. Served daily from 12pm until 8pm, it changes regularly and offers seasonal British food inspired by the comforts of home cooking. Ideal for a pre-theatre meal or for those with a little more time. A sample menu is available to download on the left-hand side of this page.

Our food ethos at The Royal Court Theatre Café/Bar is dedicated to British produce that has been locally sourced where possible and is always seasonal. The kitchen team produce all stocks, sauces, cakes and even cure meat and fish on the premises. Our talented Chefs have also built a reputation for making their own style of sourdough bread that accompanies some of the dishes on the menu.
